Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities is recognized as one of the Ten Departments in
the institution. Department is a combination of multiple subjects and streams. It oversees the
academic activities of I year B.Tech and bridges the gap between Intermediate and Engineering
courses. Department has been transforming the students, who join from different backgrounds,
into better individuals to cope with the current requirements of the global markets. Department
has put efforts to ensure a Holistic Development of students.
Faculty members counsel the students to mould them into the real time professional. Department has been securing
outstanding results for last 14 years and standing in top three places under affiliating university.
Faculty members have published about 90 research papers and 45 conference papers in National
and International repute journals and conferences. Our faculty members have edited 15 book
chapters and a research project has been granted to one of our faculty members,
Dr.K.Yellareswara Rao, of worth INR 40 lakhs. Our faculty members have received gold
medals, best teacher, Vishista seva, Sastra, Vijetha and Prathiba awards for excellence in
academics, research and service. Department has 13 Doctorates, 12 pursuing Doctorates, 11
M.Phil and 7 CSIR-UGC NET/APSET qualified faculty members. Two faculty members from
our department have got opportunity for Post Doctoral Fellowship in other countries.
Department encourages students to participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities. Our students have participated and won awards/prizes at National and International
level events. Our students have bagged many merit certificates, medals and cash awards at
National and International programs. Department conducts Live-Model Exhibitions, Sports
Meet, Cultural Meet, Workshops and FDPs for the overall development of students and faculty
members.
