      Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/ improvements

-         Continuous counseling of students for improving their performance

-         When observed a small number of students performance is not up to the mark, then faculty members take extra classes in that subject to uplift the slow learners to the standard of the remaining.

-          When it is observed that a student is weak in a particular subject then that faculty member arrange a meeting with parents to find the reasons and accordingly advise them for improvement.

      Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance

-         The Institute is governed by a Governing Body (GB). The LAVU Educational Society (LES) shall nominate the Chairman of the GB and five members including the Principal of the Institute to the Governing Body. In addition, the AICTE, JNTU and Government of Andhra Pradesh will nominate their representatives. The Governing Body will make all policy decisions regarding the courses to be offered, recruitment of staff, service conditions of staff, conduct of staff and students, academic activities and other non-academic activities.

       Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/faculty performance

-    Student Feedback is taken twice in a semester regularly on faculty performance and once in a semester on Institutional Governance. Also Feedback on Institutional Governance is taken through class counselors at regular intervals.

       Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students

-         Suggestion Boxes are provided for the students. Students, Faculty, Parents and staff can also send their suggestions through E-mail to faculties / HOD / Principal.

-         Existing Training and Placement Cell (T & P Cell) is strengthened with a separate room under the guidance of a Senior Professor.

X. ADMISSION PROCEDURE

       Mention the admission test being followed, name and address of the Test Agency and its URL (website).

-          The admissions to the institute are made as per rules/regulations framed by the Andhra Pradesh Government/AICTE. The AP Government test agency is Department of Technical Education, Competitive Examination Conducted named as EAMCET. The website address is http://www.eamcet.dte.gov.in

       Number of seats allotted to different Test Qualified candidates separately [AIEEE/CET (State conducted test/University tests)/Association conducted test]

-          The seats are allotted as per the quota and norms set by JNTU, Hyderabad, to which VIIT is affiliated.

       Calendar for admission against management/vacant seats:


-     Last date for request for applications.
-     Last date for submission of application.
-     Dates for announcing final results.
-     Release of admission list (main list and waiting list should be announced on the same day)
-     Date for acceptance by the candidate (time given should in no case be less than 15 days)
-     Last date for closing of admission.
-     Starting of the Academic session.
-     The waiting list should be activated only on the expiry of date of main list.
-     The policy of refund of the fee, in case of withdrawal, should be clearly notified.

Management decides on dates for management quota admissions after JNTU announcement. Accordingly, the society gives a paper advertisement. Against the paper advertisement on the scheduled dates candidates are interviewed and admission seats are allotted under management quota.

XI. CRITERIA AND WEIGHTAGES FOR ADMISSION

       Describe each criteria with its respective weightages i.e. Admission Test, marks in qualifying examination etc.

       Mention the minimum level of acceptance, if any.

       Mention the cut-off levels of percentage & percentile scores of the candidates in the admission test for the last three years.

       Display marks scored in Test etc. and in aggregate for all candidates who were admitted.

-          These seats are centrally counseled through EAMCET convener, Department of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

XII. APPLICATION FORM

        Downloadable application form, with online submission possibilities.

-          Department of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh appoints a Convener who is  responsible for conducting the EAMCET Examination for the entire  State of Andhra Pradesh and admitting the students in all courses in order of merit.

-          The Application form will be available from the EAMCET Advertisement.

-          Application form is available for management quota seats in VIIT college website, and it supports the online submission.

XIII. LIST OF APPLICANTS

For open seats EAMCET convener, Department of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh is advertising, Conducting an Examination and giving the admissions as per the percentile/percentage score obtained in the exam.

For management quota seats management is advertising for calling applications for admissions under management quota and giving admissions as per the percentile/percentage score obtained in the order of merit.

-   Facilities are provided for students for performing extra curricular and co-curricular activities.

-   A number of professional societies are in operation in the college, such as ISTE, IETE, etc.

-  Technical activities centers are formed in each Department, which will be organizing Technical Seminars, Guest Lectures. Technical Quizes, Language Seminars, Conducting the industrial Tours, conducting visits to various industries around the city, conducting technical visits to various technical centers around the city.  etc.

Soft Skill Development Facilities:

-      At present Soft Skills have gained enormous importance. Computer and IT Sectors are insisting on Development of Communication Skills for students. Personality Development Program Cell (PDP Cell) is established in the institute for improvement of Personality and Communication Skills of Students with a Professor in-charge and assisted by Asst. Professors. Literature is collected and distributed to the students for improving the personality and communication skills.

-          Further VIIT conducts periodically Personality Development Programmes (PDP), Mock Interviews, Seminars, Group Discussions and Analytical Tests etc., to develop Soft Skills for all years and all branches students.

-     Language lab facility is established for students and included this in the academic circulam

AICTE norms are followed for teaching load of all Professors, Associate Professors and Asst. Professors

      Internal Continuous Evaluation System and place

      For the I year only the system is year-wise. Six mid-sessional examinations are conducted. In the case of II to IV years, the semester-wise system is in vogue. Five mid-sessional examinations are conducted. The dates of the examinations are notified and are conducted by centralized examination cell at VIIT.
